I heart Instagram

I still have not fully decided about putting my kids faces (or even this unknown, completely random, REALLY CUTE kid's face) on this blog, so this post may get deleted, but I wanted to share how much I love the Instagram app on my phone.  When I forget my camera, or don't want to lug it on every errand, I can always whip out my phone when I see a fun shot.  Then I can choose from a plethora of processing options, send it to my hubby at work or my mum in NB, post it to Facebook and send it to Twitter instantly.  Plus, I have so many cute photos to look at while waiting in line. :)  Did I mention that it is FREE?  The app is only available for iPhones, although an Android version is currently being developed.

Instagram is one of these crazy web start-up companies that seem to go from zero to a billion in nano-seconds.  (Like my tech-talk?)  This great article on them in Business Week from February tells of how 2 twenty-something guys founded this company eight months ago (four at the time the article was written) with no office, business plan, financing, or even a web address, and now have 1.75 million users who upload 290,000 photos a day (that was in February - I bet it is way more now)! They just raised 7 million dollars in venture capital to, among other things, develop the Android app, from high-profile (in the tech world) investors including Jack Dorsey, a Twitter founder, and Matt Cohler, who used to be with Facebook.  Doesn't that just blow your mind?  Suddenly the idea of starting my own business seems a lot less intimidating! Now I just need to figure out how to be a twenty-something guy - they always seem to be the heros of these stories...  (Oh and by the way, this is a spontaneous, un-sponsored post, as they all are!)
