Feeling Nostalgic

I am feeling all kinds of nostalgic today, for no real reason.  Maybe it is the change in the weather - today feels distinctively autumnal.  But I think that it is also that I have CBC playing in the background.  I never play the radio at home, but for some reason clicked it on as I was getting the boys breakfast and having my (much needed) coffee early last week.  I find music needs to match my mood and environment, so I rarely let the radio decide what I am to listen to.  CBC Radio 1 is perfect because it only occasionally plays music to punctuate a story or show, and is otherwise a lovely flow of words, accents, intonations, and inflections rolling up and down and around the room.  Since I have found the station, it has been on all day every day, providing a murmuring background companionship.  The warm round sounds of interesting people chatting and telling their stories will always make me think of Mum, and take me back to the radio in the kitchen of almost every house we lived in.  It is an unexpectedly comforting sound.
