Lest We Forget

They say only 1 in 10 Canadians is wearing a poppy, which makes me feel so sad.  When I saw this on The English Muffin Blog, I just had to re-post.  Thanks for the image Bess. Excerpt from For The Fallen by Laurence Binyon.

  1. I'm glad you posted this. I had a long conversation at the grocery store with the ladies who were selling poppies. They couldn't believe how many children didn't know what they were and what they were for. I, too, was saddened by this. I was glad to hear that Alex's school had an assembly, and his kindergarten teacher spent a week explaining Remembrance Day and its importance to 4 and 5 year olds. I take my hat off to her - she did a better job explaining it than I would have!
    Here's hoping people took a moment out of their day to pause and remember.
